We have all been there before….. you are on a diet and are ALWAYS hungry. It is during this time of hunger when things can go South real quick as you just want to stuff your face with all the food that is in sight. Trust me guys, I have been there more than I can even count. But throughout my years of prepping for Men’s Physique shows, I have noticed which foods/ beverages have helped me greatly when it comes to halting this hunger!

Starting off this list with fruits and vegetables! These are some great low calorie options that will definitely fill you up, thus putting an end to hunger. With fruits being “sweet” this will definitely help those who have that trouble making “sweet tooth” out there. But please limit yourself to a cup of fruit a day! As for the veggies, as stated above, these are typically low in calories and will fill you up!

Foods high in protein, such as, grilled chicken, steak, fish, protein shakes, eggs, etc. will greatly help fight the hunger! These lean protein options, were always my “go to” come prep, as you can never have too much protein. Typically at the end of the day if I was hungry before bed, I would make an egg white omelette and this would subside my cravings all throughout the night. Find what lean protein source you enjoy the most, and be sure to snack on that during your time of hunger.

Saving the best for last (drum roll please)… COFFEE! Coffee is my secret weapon when it comes to dieting and show prep. Not only will it blunt hunger but it will also give you a nice little kick of energy, which boy oh boy, definitely comes in handy when dieting! I honestly have maybe 3 cups of coffee a day when I am on show prep…. I swear I am not addicted!
