Post Workout Meal Essentials // Anabolic Window // Sunday Series Ep. 3

In today’s episode of the Sunday Series, I talk to you guys about Post Workout Meal Essentials, as well as the “Anabolic Window”, and if this true or not. So sit back, relax, and enjoy Sunday Series Episode 3.

As mentioned above, I get asked all the time what are the best meals to eat after workouts and is the anabolic window a real thing? I wanted to get a quick video out for you guys regarding this topic, as I know everyone is subject to their own opinions, so here is mine! But please, if you guys disagree with me or have other beliefs, let me hear about them in the comments below!

Lets talk about the magical “anabolic window”, in which legend has it, if you don’t eat the correct amount of Protein & Carbs at an exact moment in time, all your gains from that workout will be lost……

TRUTH: That is not how your body works. And as long as you get enough Protein & Calories in by the end of the day, you will be totally fine!

With this being the case, my personal preference is to get in around 25-50 grams of Protein, 20-50 grams of Carbs, and to consume these foods within 30-90 minutes of working out.

Does it matter if you wait longer than that 90 minute mark? No, not really. Especially if your total protein and calorie intake are in check for that day! For me, I prefer to eat with that 90 minute mark because I didn’t eat during the workout which means at least 2 hours without eating, and cmon, no one likes being hangry!

Lastly, and the most important step is to take that post workout selfie! If you don’t take a gym selfie and post it on IG or Snap Chat, did your workout even happen?! Haha just kidding guys! Hope this helps some of you out!
