How I Overcame Binge Eating Disorder and Bulimia

F*** the stigma. People seem to almost idolise other mental health concerns like depression and anxiety (with many people self diagnosing because it sounds ‘cool’) but when it comes to eating disorders, there seems to be a sense of shame attached to it. I know it’s an inherently private thing however we are just elongating the problem by hiding it. And with the prominence of toxic masculinity, guys are afraid to come out about this because of the female stigma. I am very open about it because maybe it will encourage others to not feel guilty or ashamed of it. It is normal. People diet and they develop eating disorders in the process but it’s only because they’re trying to change themselves. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
