How to add isometrics to body weight program

Incorporating isometrics is one of the best way to add difficulty and add variety to your body weight routine at the same time reaping the benefit of enhacing performance.

Although to an athlete, it may seem like a static movement and they may not correlate with the sports movement patterns, they provide near maximal or maximal contractions which are valuable to athletes. These maximal and near maximal contraction will help in recruiting more number of muscle fibres at a time, in turn leading to increased strength over time.

It can also be used additionally in supersets pairing it with certain dynamic movements.
