Four people were shot Saturday outside Nationals Park located in the Navy Yard area of Washington DC, according to the Washington Nationals in a statement after the game was impacted by the developing crime situation.
The shooting happened in the 1500 block of South Capitol Street, Southwest, said D.C.Police. This is just is outside of the Third Base Gate at Nationals Park.
No update on whether the shooter outside the Nationals stadium has been taken into custody.
At least two shooting victims have been taken by ambulance and two other sought treatment at a hearby hospital, per DC Metro Police source.
The game will not continue tonight but will resume tomorrow at 10:05am PT. The series final will follow.
The area near the stadium has seen a spike in gun violence recently, the police source said. Recent incidents have included an Uber driver being carjacked and killed by teenage suspects.
